Hubei Key Laboratory for High-efficiency Utilization of Solar Energy and Operation Control of Energy Storage System mainly focuses on carrying out researches on aspects including optimization of quantum dot organic polymer solar cells, energy management strategies of Li-ion battery and super-capacity hybrid energy storage systems, microgrid control technology, active exchange and reactive power dispatch optimization of power distribution network and microgrid, in allusion to disciplinary crossing and integration of fields involving the mechanism study and preparation of high-efficiency photovoltaic materials, new energy storage devices and energy management system, microgrid planning and operation control technology, and microgrid access technologies in smart distribution grid.
he laboratory relies on 4 first-level master degree programs in electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Control science and Engineering, chemical Engineering and Process, and 9 second-level master degree programs in electric power System and automation, solar Energy Technology and Engineering. The laboratory has an academic team with reasonable structure, including 96 regular researchers, 70 of whom have doctoral degrees, 22 professors, 24 associate professors and senior engineers, and 5 doctoral supervisors. 25 won the title of provincial talents or above. The total value of experimental instruments and equipment in the laboratory is more than 18 million yuan, including 27 items of large-scale instruments and equipment of more than 200,000 yuan, such as lithography machine, PECVD plasma chemical vapor deposition platform and solar simulator.
In recent years, the Laboratory has undertaken and completed more than 700 scientific research projects at all levels, including 34 national Natural Science Foundation of China projects, more than 40 provincial, ministry and municipal projects, and more than 300 horizontal projects. The total scientific research funds have reached nearly 50 million RMB. Published more than 300 scientific research papers, including more than 200 papers indexed by SCI and EI; 292 authorized patents; It has won 6 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards.
Considering the industrial status quo in aspects of high-efficiency photovoltaic materials, photovoltaic power generation system, new energy storage devices and energy management, microgrid and smart distribution grid, the lab conducts researches on the major generic technologies, key scientific problems, talents introduction and brilliant scientific innovation team cultivation to push forward the development of above-mentioned industries, obtains major scientific achievements with self-owned intellectual property rights, and gives impetus to the progress of the high-efficiency utilization of solar energy and operation control of energy storage system in order to offer theoretic and technological support to Hubei’s strategic emerging industries’ development.
